How do you clean stains off of painted white furniture?

My dining room hutch has been discolored by some candlesticks. You can clearly see rings on the wood from where the candlesticks were. Any ideas how to clean this? It has a distressed white finish.

Try the Magic Erasers - special sponges first sold under Mr Clean brand. It's like microdermabrasion for walls and furniture. It works very well. You'll find them with sponges and cleansers at the grocery store and Wal-Mart.

    Easiest to paint in white over the stains, since cleaning products may take the paint off with the stain.
