Problem with …
Problem with degreed folk and church folk is that they have a hard time accepting that everything they’ve been taught ain’t the whole picture. They pay good money for schooling and preaching and then a couple of bookworms come along and tell ‘em, “You ought to look at things from different angles.” Who wants to leave their seat in the middle of the play? Not many.

Funny you should …
Funny you should mention “charismatic Judaism,” because I’ve been reading “Sociology of Early Palestinian Christianity” by Gerd Theissen and “Holy Days” by Lis Harris. The former addresses “wandering charismatic teachers” who were behind 1st century “renewal” movements within Judaism and the latter touches on the founder of modern Hasidism, the Baal Shem Tov, who was a “charismatic teacher” of a “renewal” movement within Judaism. The parallels are mind blowing!

We live close to …
We live close to the Rails to Trails near Thompson PA. These trails go for miles, they use to be old rail road tracks and after the rail roads left they converted the rail beds to trails and snowmobile trails.. we walk them all the time. It is beautiful in the Fall.

Haha Holy Cow! You rock Wayman - that was a FAST response. I wish I had more time to just go back and forth. Now, I’ve got to clarify something - I may have a degree, but I am by no means a Bible Scholar, so, as I’ve said before, be patient with me as I continue my learning.
